Media Promotes Maga
MEDIA PROMOTES MAGA REPUBLICAN PARTY AND IGNORES AND EXCLUDES REPUBLICANS WHO STILL BELIEVE IN WHAT THE REPUBLICAN PARTY ONCE WAS AND ONCE STOOD FOR
This may very well be read as the most ridiculous thing I have ever written. That of course presumes anyone reads it. I created this blog with what is beginning to look more misguided and even delusional than when I thought of it. But something makes me keep writing. Not even sure what it is anymore because it has begun to feel hopeless. But what the hell at sixty-two I think I have a right to be naïve and believe in hope even in the face of overwhelming odds against all hope. I’m going to write about the media which is probably not going to make me any friends or help this blog gain any ground but I’m going to do it anyway because I believe what I am saying is true. I also write this against the stated intention of this blog, which is not to attack anyone, but it is just not possible to get people to step up in support of a Republican Party we want to belong to without addressing its current state and the forces driving it. The true goal of this blog is to get Honest Republicans to come out of the shadows and step up to save the Party.
So here goes. Every bit of coverage I see of Donald Trump and the Republican Party begins with a poll number of 52% support by “Republicans”. Over and over, it is then clarified that it is 52% of only 25% of the Republican Party. As a lifelong Republican it angers me to be told I support Donald Trump or what has now become a movement of a minority of the Party that admittedly is dominating the “leadership” of the Republican Party. None of these numbers reflect me, or my beliefs and I still believe there are a lot more Republicans out there like me. Does that mean that Donald Trump doesn’t win the Primary. Probably not, presuming everything stays the same, but this is what I believe could change everything across the board within the Republican Party.
What if media coverage changed and focused on those Republicans like me that want change. What if the media stopped posting transcripts of every asinine tweet or whatever post there is that day and thereby sucked the life out of the far-right insanity that fuels the whole right-wing mess that is the current Republican Party as defined by the media.
Tonight, I watched a television screen showing four verbatim tweets or some other social media postings spread over it. Each more ridiculous than the prior. It included a post where Trump calls Special Prosecutor Jack Smith “deranged”. As a former prosecutor, no where near in the league of Jack Smith, I find it impossible to explain why this post and the other three along with it need to be pasted across the screen by a reputable news organization. I had limited experience in Federal Court but having stood as part of the legal team representing a native Indian tribe and watching a Federal Judge tell a former acting U.S. Attorney that although his client was a sovereign nation, he was not, and the Judge had no problem holding him in contempt in his court and sending him to jail. The fact is the post the media carried demonstrates to me that Donald Trump is terrified by Jack Smith, as well he should be. Jack Smith is going to send him to prison. However, the far-right sees it as a rallying cry that justifies their insane belief that we need to abolish the Justice Department and the FBI. Something the cowardly leadership of the current Republican Party regurgitates in hopes of preserving their place in office. What if that post didn’t get published by mainstream news media. I know it will always be published by that segment of the media that caters to that market, but it doesn’t mean the rest of media has to follow suit.
I understand reputable news agencies have the extremely difficult task of determining what is news. I don’t have the knowledge or experience to know what they should or shouldn’t be covering or how they should cover it and have no business telling them how to do their job. However, one thing I do know for sure, these types of posts are aimed at the Maga right and when they are posted verbatim in the media Donald Trump is given a podium and a bullhorn.
I may be making a completely ridiculous statement. Maybe a ridiculous statement but maybe not completely. It dawned on me that in 2016 I watched Donald Trump get elected in large part because the media covered every waking moment of his campaign no matter how ridiculous or pathetic. His insanity grew as the extreme right sought and found someone to shout their grievances from the hilltops. He was given a bully pulpit and a bullhorn for free 24/7. It is happening again.
It would be nice to see an interview of a Republican who is not living in the fantasy land that is the MAGA world. A discussion with a Republican who could speak about what people like me believe the Republican Party should stand for and could stand for if it could separate itself from the MAGA republicans and the cowardly Republican “leadership”. As I said, despite not getting much of a positive response, I continue to post in this blog in the hopes of getting Honest Republicans to come out from the shadows and stand up and demand this insanity end and that those that want to live in that mythological world do it elsewhere.
Please post your comments and sign on to the site and become a part of the believers like me that despite no indication the Party can be saved from itself, we are going to continue to argue for the return of the Party and although the simple path is to flee, we are not willing to do so.

It all begins with an idea.
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.
Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
